About the Site
Welcome to the new Access Gallery Website !
This site is a product of Russell Gordon’s residency at Access, Parallel Import, in which he spent a considerable amount of time in the gallery responding to interactions with visitors, and discussions with gallery staff, taking the physical space of the gallery itself as a starting point for determining its online needs, goals and direction.
The site is powered on a Wordpress backend and uses a modified theme authored by Graphpaper Press. The Archives page utilizes code from the MIT Simile Project which displays past gallery events in a scrollable timeline. The site relies heavily on artist generated content – indexing the myriad of projects that have passed through the gallery over the years, while showcasing new projects as they develop. There is also an “AUX.” page, presenting artist works and projects that were developed alongside the gallery’s regular programming.
This site is dedicated to supporting the mission of the gallery by offering artists and patrons of the arts opportunities to interact through the entity called Access Gallery.
Please be patient as the content and the structure of the site develops, we promise it will be worth the wait.
In the meantime check the links below and find out about the “ingredients” that made this site possible.
